Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Exhibition
An immersive showcase of museum-quality, near-life-size reproductions of the iconic master’s 34 frescoes that adorn the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican.
Now through January 11, 2020, visitors can see this art in a close-to-life-size, never before seen perspective. It’s a perfect experience for those who have never been to Rome and want to see the art work AND for those who have been to the Sistine Chapel and want a closer look and to learn more about each fresco.
This is an excellent opportunity to experience both the exhibition and the changes made on Christ Cathedral Campus. Guests can enhance their experience by adding an optional self-guided audio narrative available in 4 languages.
“It is here at the feet of this marvelous Sistine Profusion of color that the Cardinals gather – a community responsible for the legacy of the keys of the Kingdom. They come right here. And once more Michelangelo wraps them in his vision.” -The poetry of John Paul II

2019 PSA Update – “We Are One”
Thank you to the 87 families who have already pledged to support the mission of the Church in our Diocese through their commitment to the 2019 PSA. As of today, we have received pledges of $69,206 with $61,983 of this already paid. Since we have now met our diocesan goal, all additional gifts we receive from this point on will be returned straight back to us and used to construct two new ADA compliant restrooms. If you have not yet made your pledge, please do so today. We are still hoping to meet our personal goal of $85,000.
In addition, since we have now received donations from 87 donors, this will give us an incentive award of $3,000. Thank you for bringing our number of donors up

Relit – The Heart of Evangelization
If you’ve ever questioned yourself on how you could share the Catholic faith, then look no more. In September 2019, St. Mary’s by the Sea will again present the series, Relit the Heart of Evangelization, at no cost to the participants. The Spring 2019 sessions were well received by 65 parishioners.
This program is an opportunity to recharge and ignite our love of God and the Church. Led by Michael Dopp, STL, this 9 week program will help form the participants theologically, spiritually, and practically so that we as a parish, and you as individuals, may more fully live out our fundamental mission of the Church.
The first session is in the evening on Wednesdays, and begins September 11th from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
For those who desire the day sessions, we also have Saturdays, beginning on September 14th, from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
By receiving this formation, you will be renewed in your personal call as a Catholic.
For those who would like to attend, please complete the registration form in the parish bulletin, and return either to the Office or in the collection basket at Mass.
Please note that registration for this class will end August 19, 2019, to allow us time to order the books.

Prepare for Pentecost
1st Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
The Apostles, undeniably intimidated by their daunting task of preaching the Gospel, were strengthened on Pentecost by the Holy Spirit to boldly proclaim the Gospel. Strengthen your spiritual life by attending St. Mary’s by the Sea’s 12-Hour First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, which begins at 9am on Friday, June 7th and ends in the evening with rosary and Benediction scheduled for 9pm.
Thank you to all the volunteers, because you enable this program to run smoothly.
If you wish to come at a certain hour of adoration on every First Friday of the month, please contact the Lieblang Family at (714) 964-6110, and they will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you.

A New Parish Series
Parish Faith Formation
Relit – A New Parish Series
Since Jesus established the Church over 2,000 years ago, the Faith has spread throughout the world. Currently, there are 76 million Catholics in the U.S., but less than 24% of them attend Mass regularly. The New Evangelization can be simply defined in 5 words: the re-evangelization of the baptized. This program is an opportunity to recharge and ignite our love of God and the Church.
Led by Michael Dopp, STL, this training program is an exciting and integrated set of 18 sessions, which help form the participants theologically, spiritually, and practically so that we as a parish, and you as individuals, may more fully live out our fundamental mission of the Church.
The first session is in the evening on Thursday, January 24 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. For those who desire the day sessions, we also have Saturday, January 26, from 9:00-10:30 a.m.
By receiving this formation, you will be renewed in your personal call as a Catholic.
Complete a registration form and return to the office.
If you’ve ever questioned yourself on how you could share the Catholic faith, then please plan to attend this exciting program.
