If you have a loved one who’s funeral was held here during that time, please plan to attend the Mass. Their names will be displayed on a banner next to the Altar, and you will be given a special keepsake with their name on it. Remember to invite all your family and friends.

Rev. Eamon Mackin, CHS (10/6/1926-10/11/2023)

St. Mary's by the Sea Roman Catholic Parish Posted on October 17, 2023 by adminJanuary 13, 2024

Rev. Eamon Mackin, CHS (10/6/1926-10/11/2023)

*(NOTE: His funeral is this Friday, Oct. 20th beginning at 11:30am. See details at the end.)

Our beloved and dearly departed Father Eamon Mackin left this world last Wednesday, leaving a profound void in our hearts. Father Mackin, originally hailing from Ireland, embarked on a remarkable journey towards the priesthood, a path he did not tread until the ripe age of 42. His early career in the insurance industry took a remarkable turn when he chanced upon an advertisement in an Irish newspaper, beckoning those with a divine calling to join a small and dedicated order nestled in the heart of Argentina, the Crusaders of the Holy Spirit.

For over a decade, Father Mackin faithfully served as an Associate Priest alongside Father Johnson at St. Mary’s by the Sea, commencing his mission around 1994. His life was a testament to the transformative power of faith and the incredible journey of answering a higher calling.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, we offer our prayers and gratitude for everything Father Mackin has bestowed upon us. He not only served as a Catholic Priest but also as a beacon of light and a source of unwavering support for those fortunate enough to know and love him. May his soul find eternal rest in the embrace of God. Thank you, Father Mackin, for your ceaseless prayers and boundless love.
